VAN RENTER REQUIREMENTS

All Capps Locations –

Renter must be at least 25 years of age with a valid driver’s license issued in the United States. No international driver licenses are accepted without the approval of Capps Management. Renter must have and present at time of rental, a major credit/debit card in their name. The debit/credit card will be charged for the entire amount of rental at time of vehicle pickup.  Renter must provide proof of automobile insurance that is in their name at the time of rental.

Capps Texas Locations –

Insurance Requirement

To rent a vehicle in Texas, you must:

  • All renters must provide valid proof of personal auto liability insurance in their name OR meet Company rental requirements.

Rental Requirement Notice:
All renters at Capps locations in Texas must meet Capps Van and Truck Rental minimum insurance requirements. If proof of acceptable insurance is not provided and available protection products of LDW and SLI are declined, the rental will be denied.

Capps Oklahoma Locations-

Insurance Requirement

To rent a vehicle in Oklahoma, you must:

  • Provide valid auto insurance in your name, OR
  • Purchase our Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)
  • If you do not provide proof of insurance, LDW is required to rent
  • LDW is not available on Cargo Van Rentals.  LDW is available on 15 Passenger Van rentals

Rental Requirement Notice:
All renters at Capps locations in Oklahoma must meet Capps Van and Truck Rental minimum insurance requirements. If proof of acceptable insurance is not provided and Loss Damage Waiver coverage is declined, the rental will be denied.

Up to 2 additional drivers are allowed per rental contract. To be listed as an additional driver, individual must be present at time of vehicle rental and show proof of valid United States driver license. Additional drivers must be at least 25 years of age.

Capps Texas Locations–

 Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)

  • LDW is not insurance
  • It is an optional protection that limits your financial responsibility for damage to the rental vehicle
  • Protects you from full financial responsibility if the vehicle is damaged or stolen
  • LDW is not available on Cargo Van Rentals.  LDW only available on 15 passenger van rentals.
  • LDW is only available on personal rentals.  LDW not available on commercial rentals

Capps Oklahoma Locations-

 Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)

  • LDW Is Not insurance
  • Protects you from full financial responsibility if the vehicle is damaged or stolen
  • LDW is not available on Cargo Van Rentals.  LDW only available on 15 Passenger Van rentals

Capps Texas Locations –

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI)

  • SLI is optional insurance coverage
  • Provides additional liability protection for bodily injury and property damage to others from third party claims
  • Your liability coverage is increased above the minimum required by the State of Texas
  • SLI is available on Cargo Van and 15 Passenger van rentals that originate from Capps Texas locations

Capps Oklahoma Locations –

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI)

  • SLI is NOT available at Capps Oklahoma locations.

TAXES
Taxes are not included in rental rates and will vary from state to state.

PROPERTY TAX SURCHARGE
Your rental may be subject to an additional charge for Property Tax Surcharge.

STADIUM/ARENA TAX
Your rental may be subject to a 5% Stadium/Arena tax at certain locations.

Rates are in U.S. dollars (USD). Payments are to be made in U.S. dollars.

After hours drop is available at most Capps locations. Renter’s responsibility for rental vehicle and rental charges will not end until vehicles is checked in the next morning by a Capps Representative. Most Capps locations provide a key drop box, please contact your local Capps location for details.

Renter must return vehicle with the same amount of fuel as vehicle had at time of original rental pickup. If renter does not bring vehicles back with the same fuel level, a refueling charge of $10.00 per gallon will be assessed. No refunds will be given for excess fuel left in vehicle at time of return.

Please call your local Capps office to determine if airport shuttle is available in your area.

One-way rentals are only allowed between locations in the same metro area. Please contact your local Capps location for details.

15 Passenger Van Rentals are allowed to travel to Mexico with Capps management approval. Proof of Mexico Insurance must be presented at time of picking up vehicle from Capps. Capps assumes no responsibility, nor does it guarantee vehicle entry into Mexico. Renter takes all responsibility in their attempt to take a Capps vehicle to Mexico.

Capps will authorize rentals for Non U.S.A. residents with the following requirements:

  • International Renters will only be allowed to rent Chevrolet 15 Passenger Van or Ford 15 Passenger Van at Capps locations in the State of Texas only.  No other vehicle classes qualify for International Renters
  • Renter must have a valid International Drivers Permit.  Please see link below to apply for IDP.  Renter must possess IDP before they reach USA and present International Drivers Permit at time of rental to Capps personnel

  • Renter must be 25 years of age or old with major credit card in their name
  • Renter must purchase Capps Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) Loss Damage Waiver.  LDW has a $5000.00 renter deductible per vehicle.  LDW physical covers damage to Capps vehicle.  Renter is responsible for first $5000.00 of damage to Capps Rental Vehicle.
  • Renter must purchase Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) coverage.  SLI covers renter for Third Party Damages.  See Capps Location Manager for details. SLI is only available at Capps locations in the State of Texas 
  • Capps Rental Manager must approve all International rental contracts before customer takes vehicle off lot. 
  • Approval process includes Capps location manager checking for valid International Drivers Permit from renter, verifying renter has credit card in their name, LDW with 5k deductible and SLI are both on rental contract
  • Two Additional International Drivers can be added to Capps Rental Contract.  Both additional drivers must have International Drivers Permit, be 25 years of age or older and possess a major credit card in their name.  Both additional drivers must be present at time of rental and must sign rental contract.   There is no additional costs to add two additional drivers per rental contract
  • All international rental contracts must be paid up front via credit card or ach
  • Renters that pay via ach must leave copy of a credit card with their name on it on file in case we need to charge incidentals not covered in original rental contract prepayment.
